Introducing the Ballistae "Sliders"
Ah, the V2s...where to begin...
If you want to get up to speed on the V2s from the beginning, start with the following blog:
Evolution of a Kneepad: The V2 Saga
Then continue to the next installment by reading the
What We've Been Up To article. (To set the stage, this was published right before 2020 looked at 2016 and confidently asked us to "hold its beer.")
If you've gone this far, read one more entry:
and you're up to speed.
Or just skip the point:
When it came to the V2s, our beloved (and now former) manufacturer failed to produce the agreed upon design. They nailed the very limited prototypes (genuine works of art) but somehow missed the memo when it came to mass production.
While the stitching or fabric along with the mold was solid, the extended sleeve and inside gel grips were somehow, not included, making it impossible to fully dub these pads the "V2" and then being dubbed the V 1.5s, or V2 "Almosts" depending on the mood.
For a moment, this did not matter as Dodgeball was still not happening anyway.
However, with restrictions slowly being lifted (depending on what state you live in), Dodgeball is slowly coming back and with it, an increase in sales (for both our online store, and at a rate faster that we can keep up, through Amazon Prime).
Because of this, and from the positive feedback of many testers over the last few months, we realize that while the "V2 Almosts" that we received weren't the actual V2s we were anticipating, they still solve the reason for their creation in the first place:
The elimination of friction burn that was tearing through V1s.
As a result, we are offering the V2 "Almosts" as a complete, stand alone product.
Unlike the bulky (but cushier) V1s, these bad boys were made for those that constantly and unapologetically slide across the court. They are for the players that spend a majority of the time on the ground and the new fabric to date has held up for such a player.
To truly capture the essence and purpose of such a kneepad, we have dubbed them the "Sliders."
While we still work on obtaining their original form, players can obtain a pair AT COST until the end of the year by heading to our product page:

Like our V1s, we will continue to work on their improvement as more feedback and the evolution of the sport continues.
